In my mind, it symbolizes connecting the dots but it could just as easily be connecting the world, connecting people, connecting ideas, connecting knowledge, connecting the lives, connecting thoughts, etc.

I suggest putting this out there and challenging speakers of other languates to come up with similar phrases using the the same four letters. In this way, you recognize the international character of this and other MOOCs.
